During this session of the General Assembly, Virginia has its best opportunity in years to advance transportation electrification through Clean Car Standards (HB1965) which will expand consumer car choice, keep automobile jobs in Virginia, reduce air pollution from transportation emissions, and improve human health.

More than 220 Advocates Meet with Legislators for 2021 (virtual) Conservation Lobby Day
On Thursday, January 21, more than 220 conservation advocates met with legislators for Virginia Conservation Network's first virtual Conservation Lobby Day. Advocates completed more than 50 meetings over Zoom, lobbying their state representatives on legislation including the Clean Car Standards, reforming utility regulation, increasing the state's conservation budget, and a variety of additional goals for the conservation community. Public comments submitted on the proposed Waste Management landfill expansion permit
On behalf of Virginia Conservation Network and its 150 Partner organizations, VCN has submitted public comments in regards to the proposed Waste Management landfill expansion permit (NAO-2011-02448) in Charles City County, Virginia. We encouraged the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to particularly consider comments of VCN Partner organizations, including those submitted to USACE by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Virginia Chapter of Sierra Club.
